So it's official. I have a blog. The intent of this blog is to keep friends and family updated during my trip to Nepal, Tibet and Indonesia. I hope to be able to access the internet fairly often while I am away but it may be difficult as I will be trekking in some of the more remote areas of Nepal and Tibet where internet will likely not be available for weeks. But I will try to keep you updated as often as possible. But in the mean time here is my rough Itinerary:
Sept 7: Fly to Katmandu, Nepal.
-Spend about a week in and around Katmandu
-Possibly go rafting, canyoning, or mountain biking. Explore temples and surrounding valley.
-Trek in the Himalayas (Annapurna Circuit) for 3 weeks
- Trekking in the Himalayas will consist of usually 8 hour days of hiking between remote mountain villages up to elevations of 6000m. Accommodation will be in tea house huts in the villages.
-Do a Buddhist meditation retreat or a Yoga retreat for a week.
-Go to Tibet for a week or so and do some trekking
October 21st Depart Katmandu Arrive Hong Kong
October 22nd Depart Hong Kong Arrive Bali, Indonesia.
Spend two or three days in and around Bali
Take a speed boat from Bali to The Gili Islands off the north coast of Lombok to spend 3 weeks diving surfing and chillin out on the beach.
So thats a rough plan. Things will most definitely change. But that's it for this post. I've got a week and a half to get things together. Next post I'll be in Nepal!! See you in the winter!!
Hey Brett, have a great adventure. Have fun and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteLove, Dad
Brett we're so happy for you and glad to hear that you arrived safely in Katmandu. Have a blast and be careful while you're treking around! Take care and have fun...love Mom.
ReplyDeleteHi Brett, Mom and Dad here.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an intense experience alright; a lot like India I would think. I - Dad would also be anxious to get out of the city and travel the countryside (just like Europe) Have a great time on your trek and I am sure you know but if altitude sickness strikes you must go down. Hope to talk to you soon.
Love mom and dad. ps. take lots of pics
